You perhaps could be forgiven for being unaware of a proposal introduced by a group of Rhode Island senators. The proposal, so bizarre you’d think it was a joke, would require anyone who lives or earns income in R.I. to be fully vaccinated. Rhode Island, the smallest state in the U.S., is notoriously pro Democrat: going back to the Great Depression, R.I., has been dominated by the Democratic Party.
The proposed bill comes even after a federal vaccine mandate for large private employers supported by President Joe Biden was struck down by the Supreme Court.
As BRIGHT editors explain, the vaccination policy applies to all children and adults who are eligible to be vaccinated, and any exemptions require at least three licensed physicians stating that the person is not a fit subject for immunization.
Doubling the Taxes for the Unvaccinated
All three of those signatures must be notarized. As if that’s not extreme enough, here’s the kicker: “Any person who violates this chapter shall be required to pay a monthly civil penalty of fifty dollars ($50.00) and shall owe twice the amount of personal income taxes as would otherwise be assessed.” (Text copied straight from the bill.)
