In mid-January Sheriff Richard Mack suffered a heart attack. This follows shortly after his wife was hospitalized in 2014 with major medical issues. In 2010 I wrote a five part profile of Sheriff Mack (collected here in one post), focusing on his stand against the federal government in Mack/Printz vs. U.S.
Sheriff Mack put a stop to the Clinton administration’s attempt to nationalize the labor of every Sheriff in the country by forcing them to do the federal government’s work for it. The Supreme Court decision in favor of Mack was a victory for states rights and second amendment rights. Today that decision is being used as precedent for some of the opposition to Obamacare.
Now the sheriff who has helped his country so much needs his country’s help. Sheriff Mack and Dawn don’t have health insurance and could use the support of patriotic Americans willing to lend a helping hand. The sheriff has received treatment and is in recovery but has massive medical bills to pay.
