It’s a possibility, if the neocons in Washington can be vocally disarmed. Iran has a big potential step forward with its new and open president. Russia has no interest in an ongoing civil war in Syria. Turkey is not often mentioned, but Turkey most certainly does not need Syrian mayhem at its doorstep. There are many potential winners to be counted and, beyond the Al- Qaeda rabble, few losers. It will not hurt America to be a good listener and to avoid provocative commentary likely to jam the gears of the negotiating process. Here Pat Buchanan offers a good outline of events.
