
The number of civilian government employees (excluding the USPS) has fallen to levels not seen since March 2009, the first quarter of the Obama administration.
The number of federal employees as a percentage of the total workforce has fallen to the lowest levels since 1966. The Trump administration celebrated the falling numbers of federal employees, writing on X.com:

With rapidly escalating levels of debt, the federal government will need even more drastic cuts to balance the budget.
