Times( NY) journalists have for weeks tracked clusters of cases and deaths across the country. The largest such outbreaks include state prisons in Ohio and Tennessee, a federal prison complex in California, meatpacking plants in the Midwest and an aircraft carrier docked in Guam. The deadliest outbreaks have been in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
