The Democrats’ Civil War – Kimberley Strassel, The Wall Street Journal
The Radical Progressive Movement (RPM) is having a complete fit that some of the more moderate senators in the Democratic party aren’t willing to just close their eyes and vote for the RPM’s agenda. With a super majority in the Senate, the only thing holding back the RPM, led by Harry Reid, is the small number of conservative-state Democrats who are looking at defeat in elections in November. But if the liberal base that controls the Democratic Party succeeds in ousting the moderate members of their caucus, they will lose by even wider margins in November. Progressive candidates have no hope of winning this year. Independents across the country are running rightward as they see Barack Obama and his cronies in Congress sending the country down a path of fiscal destruction. Look for big gains for conservatives as Democrats go down in a Custer’s-Last-Stand type scalping. The – Dick Young
Notable & Quotable – The Wall Street Journal
Those donors that were foolish enough to donate the Charlie Crist for Senate 2010 campaign are now getting a real shock when they ask for their money back from the party-switching governor. Crist’s campaign says no-way to donors asking to have their donations reimbursed. While it’s sad to see Crist have to stoop to such low levels to fund his own narcissism (literally), the donors really are getting their just desserts, as they never should have abandoned principle in the first place by supporting Crist. – Dick Young
