“White House lights up with rainbow colors after same-sex marriage bill signing.” That is a headline from The Hill (story here).
Over the years, Jay’s position has been unwavering:
There should be no “lighting up” of the White House, to celebrate legislative outcomes or what have you.
The White House should not serve as such a canvas. It should be itself, unpainted upon, a symbol of America at large.
Mr. Nordlinger continues in NRO: When Jay Nordlinger runs for president, that will be a plank of his platform: no lighting up of the White House.
Mr. Nordlinger advises his critics and enemies, on left and right, to relax.
I’m kidding. I’m not running. I’m pretty sure.
