Why?
The consumer price index came down slightly from the 9.1 percent recorded in June, reported The Federalist:
Americans still paid more in July for groceries (prices rose by 1.1% since June and 10.9% since July 2021. Electricity is up 1.6% since the previous month and 15.2 % since last year.
Just ignore that Inflation is still at 8.5% (one of the highest rates in 40 years).
- Food is the most expensive since 1979
- Gas is $1 more expensive than it was last year
- Real wages fell by 3.6%
- There’s still no baby formula
- Utility companies might have turned off your in the middle of a heatwave
