A Presidential Campaign Built on Fiction

Who Is Actually in Charge?

Almost any person in the Democratic party had a better chance of defeating Donald Trump in November. President Joe Biden was never a good bet. No longer do Democrats rest their hope on good ‘ol Scranton Joe being the party’s best hope of defeating Donald Trump.

Don’t be sorry for Biden. He and his people knew what they were doing.

Who Will Protect the People

Among the biggest worries is that 3a.m. call to the White House. Voters want their president to be strong, sharp, vigilant. As John Klass protests, we don’t want presidents to be dim witted, slack-jawed meat puppets performing at the direction of puppet master political bosses. An alert president needs to answer that phone and deal with whatever threat is out there.

What Are the Bidens Thinking

So who is running the white House? Not that “sad Obama meat puppet on display at the CNN debate last week.” Certainly not Joe Biden. Don’t feel sorry for him, cautions Mr. Klass. Joe & Co. new exactly what they were doing at the expense of our county. If he were your father, senile, doddering, feeble in mind and body, you’d gently guide him off stage out of politics and into a doctor’s care. Because you loved your father (as well as your country), you’d never have let it get this far.

Amongst the gnashing of teeth and the political ramifications after the Debacle, John Daniel Davidson in The Federalist makes a critical point: Who is actually running the country?  America essentially has no president right now. Who is calling the shots in the White House, especially on foreign affairs? Thursday night proved what Joe’s staff and family has been hiding: It is not Joe Biden.

Unfit: President Joe Biden’s 50 Years in the Game

Joe Biden had every moral and political reason not to to seek a second term, argues Holman Jenkins in the WSJ:

  • his age
  • Hunter Biden
  • the intelligence community’s unseemly lying to the American public to secure his first victory over Mr. Trump

Endorsing a Known Incompetent

Mr. Biden’s own deterioration makes him the opponent even a scandalized and distrusted Mr. Trump could likely beat, possibly in a landslide.

Mr. Jenkins in the WSJ believes, perhaps optimistically, Joe Biden is more blundering than calculating in this mess.

He foolishly indulged his son over the years, getting himself in a situation in 2020 where his campaign had to be rescued from his family-created scandal by the shockingly disingenuous intervention of intelligence officials falsely fingering Russia for the laptop.

The next few days will be telling. If Mr. Biden remains in the seat, Mr. Trump may romp to a broad, unambiguous victory and mandate.

Biden’s Patriotic Option

Biden is not fit mentally, as his many pauses, blunders, and simply incoherent sentences clearly showed Thursday night. The president’s calamitous performance shows how strongly he wants to cling to power and how unfit mentally he is.

For the Good of the Country

There’s still time for Joe Biden to regain his dignity by showing the courage to withdraw, to welcome retirement, and to set his party free.

Power & Influence

Why didn’t Democrats allow democracy to prevail, wonders Mr. Klass. Klass, a conservative, readily admits to not being a fan of Bernie Sanders:

The Democrats stabbed Sen. Bernie Sanders in the back twice and rigged their primaries to protect their corporate weasels and Wall Street influencers, once in 2016 on behalf of Hillary Clinton and later in 2020 for old Joe Biden. They used identity racial politics and other means. I’m no Sanders fan. I am a conservative.

… a Sanders presidential candidacy would have at the very least given Democrats much needed deep cleansing breaths, to expel the poisons and toxins. The Democrat Party did not get any cleansing breaths. Swamp Democrats strangled democracy. And for what?

Power.
