Turkey sits smack-dab in the middle of the ISIS conflict zone, but has until today been content to protect its border from the jihadists in Syria and Iraq. But a back and forth has recently taken place between Turkey and ISIS, in which Turkey shut-down the flow of ISIS fighters through its territory. ISIS seemed to retaliate when a suicide bomber killed and wounded many young Turks in Suruc on Monday. Then on Thursday ISIS fighters fired across the border, killing one Turkish officer. The Turkish military has now taken a position of “pre-emptive defense.” They bombed ISIS positions after seeing what looked like forces massing at the border for an attack on Turkey. The Wall Street Journal reports here.
The footage below is allegedly that of the bombing of ISIS positions.
