Jonathan Gruber and Padded Bills?

Jonathan Gruber testifies before Congress.

Jonathan Gruber, the MIT economists who was an advisor to the Obama administration on the Affordable Care Act, is the target of a Vermont state audit. The reason? He may have padded bills for his economic modeling work on a proposed Vermont health system. Mr. Gruber is infamously known for his comment that “the stupidity of the American voter” and “lack of transparency” is what helped get the ACA passed.

According to the Burlington Free Press, “Gruber’s invoices lacked important details and claimed dubious numbers of work hours as he prepared economic models for a single-payer health care system.”

On Monday, Mr. Gruber declined to comment.
