An amazing opportunity awaits the community of Naples, FL. This fall Mason Classical Academy (MCA), a tuition free Hillsdale College Charter School, will open its doors. Nearly 200 supporters attended the first of three enrollment meetings this past weekend. MCA is dedicated to a classical education to promote superior educational results.
The mission of MCA is to develop within its students the intellectual and personal habits, values, and skills upon which responsible, independent, and productive lives are built, in the firm belief that such lives are the basis of a free and just society. The Academy prepares its students to be leaders in their homes and communities, entrepreneurs in business, and statesmen in government. Through its rigorous curriculum with a strong emphasis in civics, MCA provides a traditional education with a constant view towards developing exceptional American citizens.
MCA is affiliated with Hillsdale College’s Barney Charter School Initiative. The Barney Charter School Initiative is a project of Hillsdale College devoted to the education of young Americans. Hillsdale College is an independent liberal arts college in Michigan with the aim of defending the “traditional liberal arts curriculum, convinced that it is the best preparation for meeting the challenges of modern life.” Hillsdale is bringing that mission to its charter schools.
