Sheriff Mack Part IV

In the chapter of The County Sheriff entitled “Political Correctness,” Sheriff Richard Mack tells Americans, “our American Republic has been replaced by a corrupt system of political correctness. The founders of America warned us repeatedly, in their writing and their intent, to avoid gun control, a welfare state, a police state, entangling foreign alliances, a grandiose and omnipotent central government, enslaving taxation, [and] paper money not backed by a gold and silver standard.” Mack concludes that “The political platforms of both major parties have promoted each and every one of these socialistic or communistic ideals, that our country was specifically established to prevent.”

I agree 100% and would ask how Sheriff Mack’s on-the-money arguments match up with those in Change for America: A Progressive Blueprint for the 44th President by Mark Green and Michele Jolin. I doubt Sheriff Mack could wade through the first chapter of this abuse of the printing press. SheriffMack.com.

Democrats at the Edge of the Cliff – Daniel Henninger, The Wall Street Journal
Democrats have misread their mandate entirely. The “change” people assumed they were voting for was for better government, lower spending, and an end to the partisan claptrap in Washington. They have gotten none of it. The Democrats’ true colors are showing in all the states they control: New York, California, New Jersey, Michigan, and Massachusetts are all suffering from years of Democratic influence. One must ask Democratic rank-and-file voters what it is, exactly, that they have gotten from voting for Democratic candidates. Higher taxes, check. Fewer freedoms, check. More dependence on the benevolence of government bureaucrats, check. What now for Democratic voters? – Dick Young

GOP Candidates Court Seniors – Michael M. Phillips, The Wall Street Journal
The illogic of Obamacare was summed up nicely in this article by Philip Dew, who said, “You’re going to have to withdraw care from people on Medicare who really need it, in order to care for people who didn’t want insurance in the first place.” True. Obamacare is a redistribution of wealth that no one actually wants, even many of those getting the wealth. – Dick Young

U.S. Military Jury Clears Seal in Iraq Abuse Case – AP, The Wall Street Journal
The first Navy SEAL to be brought to court for allegedly taking part in beating a terrorist has been exonerated of all charges. Congratulations to the SEAL and to the military for bringing in the terrorist mastermind and taking back the city of Fallujah. If a fat lip is all the terrorist is given for hanging two Americans working for Blackwater above the bridge into the city, he should consider himself lucky. – Dick Young

On Presidential Rhetoric – Review & Outlook, The Wall Street Journal
President Obama can give a hell of a speech, I’ll give him that. But attacking your political opponents is not the job of a president; running the country is. Barack Obama is running this country into the ground with multitrillion-dollar budgets, gaping deficits, and new entitlement programs bound to fail as badly as the old. He can create straw men out of thin air to demonize in his speeches, and he can personally attack his political opponents, and no one in the media seems to think this is out of place. It’s high time president Obama acted like the post-partisan he claims he is. – Timothy Jones
