Yesterday you read from an old friend of mine about his small town, invaded with New York City residents fleeing coronavirus, and their alarm as he entered the local post office without a mask on. Not wanting to wait in the lobby with the horde of freaked out city dwellers, he took a different approach to getting his stamps. Here’s a followup note he sent me on the end of the story:
Dick, the end of this story was that I ended up trading a friend of mine who is a single mom some 20 gauge shotgun shells for the postage stamps. True story! She lives out in the woods on a dead end road and is worried.
In 2012 I wrote to you about Wine, Ammo & Toilet Paper. In a crisis, those are the items that will come in handiest for trade.
