On June 25, voters in Massachusetts will be given a choice. They can vote for Rep. Ed Markey, one of the most liberal congressmen in the House of Representatives according to National Journal, or for Gabriel Gomez, a political outsider who has served his country as a Navy SEAL, graduated from Harvard Business School, and built a successful business.
Gomez is the son of Colombian immigrants, who grew up speaking Spanish at home. After graduating high school, Gomez was awarded a place at the United States Naval Academy, where he graduated with merit. He would go on to flight school, then eventually to become a Navy SEAL, making him one of the few Americans to achieve both the distinctions of being a Navy aircraft carrier pilot, and SEAL officer.
After leaving the Navy in 1996, Gomez earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and then entered the private sector. Working as a Principal at Advent International, Gomez learned how the economy works, and helped businesses like Lululemon become household names.
In the meantime, Rep. Ed Markey was trying to take down America’s economy by writing draconian cap-and-trade laws that, according to the Heritage Foundation, by 2035 would have reduced GDP by $7.4 trillion, raise electricity rates by 90%, gasoline prices by 74%, natural gas prices by 55%, and family annual energy bills by $1,500. Moreover, Markey has become a creature of Washington. He’s been a congressman since 1976 and is the picture perfect example of why term limits should be instituted for legislators.
Gabriel Gomez’s life is a picture of the American Dream. Rep. Ed Markey is just part of the American problem. We support Gabriel Gomez for Senate in Massachusetts.
