I asked a small, targeted focus group last week a single question: What percent of voters are hard-line supporters of Bernie policies or of Trump policies?
Note: I wrote “policies.” I was not referring to Bernie or Trump personally.
Poll results: A Runaway Win for Trump Policies by a 2-to-1 Margin
Only one-third of those polled selected Bernie policies.
I am familiar with each person I selected for my initial focus group of the 2020 Presidential season. The most informed, statistically and historically sound poll takers leaned towards Trump policies by 3-to-1.
As editor in-chief of richardcyoung.com, Debbie posts daily on our constitutional republic (note: “America is not a Democracy”). The word Democracy does not appear in the Constitution. On 22 March, Debbie sourced her favored historical scholar (also mine) on the subject. Here I am referring to the brilliant Victor Davis Hanson.
VDH kicks off with a roster of Progressive talking points (a nasty and deeply misguided stew pot).
Debbie and I rely primarily on on-the-ground worldwide anecdotal evidence gathering (we will be traveling to France soon) and peer reviewed history books.
In my case, I find the writings of Robert Merry, Scott McConnell and Pat Buchanan, as regularly chronicled in my highly favored The American Conservative (TAC) always thoughtful, disciplined and on the money. In the spirit of full disclosure, I note that TAC publisher Jon Basil Utley is a Cato Institute associated, long-time friend of ours.
About the American Conservative
The American Conservative exists to promote a “Main Street” conservatism that opposes unchecked power in government and business; promotes the flourishing of families and communities through vibrant markets and free people; and embraces realism and restraint in foreign affairs based on America’s vital national interests.
The American Conservative adheres to old and proven principles that are often discarded or paid lip service in the pursuit of power.
