After putting guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels, and after becoming the first sitting cabinet member to be held in contempt of Congress, and after allowing the spying on journalists like James Rosen, Eric Holder is considering running for president of the United States in 2020. It should be obvious to any gun owner or supporter of the Second Amendment that Eric Holder being elected president would be a nightmare scenario. Holder said in an interview with MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry in 2015 that his greatest failure in office was his failure to pass gun control. Now he’s considering running for the highest office in the country. Imagine the damage Holder could do to the Second Amendment if he were to be elected.
Holder is currently working to stop the Trump administration’s attempts to deport criminal illegal immigrants from California. The Hill reports Holder says his behind the scenes status in politics is about to change.
Former Attorney General Eric Holder is poised to take a more active role in opposing President Trump, telling Yahoo News in an interview published Tuesday that “now is the time to be more visible” — including weighting a 2020 presidential bid.
“Up to now, I have been more behind-the-scenes,” said Holder, who served for six years in the Obama administration. “But that’s about to change. I have a certain status as the former attorney general. A certain familiarity as the first African-American attorney general.”
“There’s a justified perception that I’m close to President Obama. So I want to use whatever skills I have, whatever notoriety I have, to be effective in opposing things that are, at the end of the day, just bad for the country.”
