Price: The Lame-Duck Threat – Robert Costa, National Review
Congressman Tom Price, chairman of the Republican Study Committee, has moved to prohibit the House from having a two month lame-duck session that would normally come after the November elections. Without the session, Democrats would have no chance to move their policy plans forward without the threat of being beaten in elections. A lame-duck sessions gives all the election losers the opportunity to do all the dirty legislative deals they have wanted to do for two years but couldn’t out of fear of their constituents’ reactions. Democrats have repeatedly floated trial balloons about the possibility of passing a Value Added Tax during the lame duck session. That is exactly the type of radical maneuver that Price is attempting to prevent. Two months of unaccountable radical progressive rule could be enough to cripple the United States for decades. – Dick Young
The False Fed Savior – Review & Outlook, The Wall Street Journal
Negative real interest rates are eating away at the savings of Americans. Inflationary stimulus used to fight the threat of deflation will hurt Americans just the same in the long run as their savings are made less and less valuable. The Fed, and those in Congress and the administration urging it to continue its easy money stance, are hurting America’s savers and those on fixed incomes to save their favored constituencies. – Timothy Jones
Repealing Obamacare: Politically Feasible, Morally Urgent – Sally C. Pipes, Human Events
Only a complete repeal of Obamacare is enough to make things right. Half measures and trying to “fix” the bill won’t work. The 2,400 pages of Obamacare must be ripped from U.S. law as soon as possible. Higher taxes, more bureaucracy and less choice for patients is all that is included in the bill. – Dick Young
Arizona Will Keep Fighting – State Senator Russell Pearce, Human Events
Under the last three presidential administrations the government has failed miserably to enforce its duties under Article IV Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution to protect America from invasion. With roughly 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S., who can say that there hasn’t been an invasion? – Timothy Jones
