Commentary by Dick Young on Hoover + McGovern = Obama by Dick Morris & Eileen McGann, National Review
The authors write here that “In a sense, America met its first conservative in 1981 and fell in love. We met our first liberal in 2009 and are running away screaming.” Americans are running away from the Obama administration screaming because they are scared of the fundamental transformation of their country into an Obama-Marxist dystopia, filled with Americans living on the public dole and at the mercy of the progressive regime. Is that what you want for your children? An America where they are more likely to depend on the state than on their own ingenuity, entrepreneurialism, and hard work? I doubt it. I doubt anyone wants to live that way. The authors conclude that by electing Barack Obama “Americans, in a fit of national delusion, made what they now realize was one of their biggest mistakes.” Mistake is right. Another mistake was made during the GOP primary when supposed conservatives supported John McCain, giving little alternative to Americans other than to vote for the charismatic young man from Chicago. Conservatives must rally in 2012 around a strong standard bearer, one not afraid to commit to conservative principles and fight for them on the campaign trail. Most importantly this candidate should be willing to talk about spending cuts everywhere he/she goes, and mean it.

Commentary by E.J. Smith on Tea-Party Movement Gathers Strength by Peter Wallsten and Danny Yadron, The Wall Street Journal
I have no doubt some politicians are well meaning when they go to Washington, D.C. But, they are not sent there to compromise just to get things done (Read: Scott Brown). The tea party movement is a ground up phenomenon. It’s not a pledge from leaders in Washington. It’s an order from the people to reduce the size of the government and get rid of the incumbents. The wave is building towards November 2 and will only gain in size come 2012.
Commentary by Timothy Jones on Blaming the Voters by the editors of The Wall Street Journal
The President and Vice-President sound a bit like Hugo Chavez lately, ordering their “supporters” to get to the polls to vote. Democrats aren’t being lazy, they just aren’t sure they want to reelect this crowd of incompetent progressives again. If your district was represented by someone with the zany attitude of Nancy Pelosi, or the alleged criminal nature of Charlie Rangel, or the arrogance of Barney Frank, would you head to the polls to support them? Unfortunately in their districts, enough people will probably support these three. Fortunately though, that isn’t the case for many vulnerable Democrats all around the country. Barack Obama told Rolling Stone’s radical left-wing political writers that the tea party is financed by special interest lobbies and indicated that tea partiers are probably racists. These kinds of words come from those who know they are about to lose.
