The Marxist policies of Barack Obama have most probably cost the Democrats the 2014 election season. Obama belongs right up there in a rogues gallery of the most destructive U.S presidents including Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter and lone Republican George W. Bush. This does not mean that pro-small government non-intervention Americans like Debbie and I support the policies of the Republican leadership including John Boehner, John McCain and Lindsey Graham, none of whom we support for a minute.
After nine lengthy visits to France, Debbie and I have a pretty good feel for the track America is on, perhaps only a couple of decades behind the French. And it is an ugly picture of Socialist, big government, high taxes, radical Muslim intrusion and fleeing wealthy business owners.
Neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party, as configured today, offers Americans the slightest hope of avoiding France’s race down the rabbit hole of big government failure. To get on track, all Americans can eagerly embrace the small government policies of the Libertarian, Cato Institute. Here (as well as here, here, here, here, and here) you get an excellent look at both the domestic and foreign policy ideas that can work to get all Americans competitive and working.
On February 4, 2015 Cato will be hosting their Naples Florida, Ritz Carlton based Policy conclave. It is a sold out winner every year. Debbie and I will be there, as always, and hope you and your friends will take this wonderful opportunity to introduce yourselves to the great work of the Cato Institute.
